Arts
Perth International Arts Festival
10th February to 3rd March
As one of Western Australia’s premier cultural events, the Perth International Arts Festival is a feast of joyous, cutting-edge performances and activities for all ages. Experience some of the world’s best international and contemporary theatre, dance, music, film, visual arts and literature.
Sculpture by the Sea Cottesloe
1st to 19th March
Sculpture by the Sea returns for the seventh annual exhibition from 1 to 19 March 2012. Sculpture by the Sea is held at Perth’s iconic Cottesloe Beach. It is one of the city’s largest free public events and transforms Cottesloe beach into a sculpture park with over 70 sculptures on display from artists across Australia and the world.
Vast: North-West Landscapes
Until 18th March
The opening up of northern Western Australia to mining exploration in the 1960s also opened up this terrain to artists. Australian artists Russell Drysdale, Guy Grey-Smith, Robert Juniper, Sidney Nolan and many others travelled through the area at this time and their works can be viewed at The Art Gallery of Western Australia.
Cycling
Pemberton Classic
Saturday 3rd March & Sunday 4th March

Town: Pemberton
The Pemberton Classic cycle race is one of the toughest events on the West Australian cycling calendar. This event, sanctioned by Cycling WA, is on the Labour Day long weekend in March and incorporates a ‘race around the town’ Criterium on the Saturday afternoon and a Road Race through the stunning Pemberton countryside on the Sunday morning.
City of Rockingham Triathlon, TriEvents Triathlon Series
Sunday 4th March
The 2011/2012 TriEvents Triathlon Series is the premier triathlon series in Western Australia. The series consists of five races at various locations in the Perth Metropolitan area. City of Rockingham will be the fourth race of the 2011/2012 series, held on Sunday 4th March 2012.

Gamex

Town: Exmouth
Gamex is Western Australia's premiere game fishing competition. Teams can fish the abundant waters off Exmouth in small or large vessels to target over 40 different species of game fish, including six different species of billfish.
Harness Racing
V75 Inter Dominion Championship Grand Final
Friday 2nd March
Regarded as the ‘Melbourne Cup’ of harness racing, the V75 Inter Dominion Championship Final is Australia’s only million dollar pacing event. Perth’s Gloucester Park was the birth place of the Inter Dominion, hosting the initial championship in 1936 and since then the Inter Dominion has developed into one of the world’s great harness racing events.

Perth Glory vs Central Coast Mariners

Perth Glory Football Club is one of Australia’s leading football clubs, winning back to back championships in 2003 and 2004, Runners Up in 2000 and 2002, Premiers in 2000, 2002 and 2004, and A-League Pre Season Runners Up 2005 and 2007.

Spicing up Western Australia since 2003, Araluen’s Fremantle Chilli Festival has grown to be one of the city’s major cultural events.
