When and where is the 2019 UDIA National Congress being held?
On the Gold Coast in Queensland at The Star Casino and Hotel located at 1 Casino Drive, Broadbeach QLD 4218.
When do tickets for the 2019 UDIA National Congress go on sale?
Monday, 20 August 2018.
What’s included in a Congress registration?
A full Congress registration includes: Oliver Hume Welcome Party on the evening of Tuesday, 26 March; Plenary sessions and Twilight with Trade function on Wednesday, 27 March; Plenary sessions on Thursday, 28 March. Accommodation, flights, study tours, and the National Awards for Excellence are booked separately and not included in the full Congress registration.
Is there a partner's program?
There is no separate partners program. Partners are permitted to attend the Congress as non-members or purchase tickets to the Oliver Hume Welcome Party, study tours, and the National Awards for Excellence.
How many colleagues can I bring?
There is no limit on the number of colleagues that can attend. Members can access a discounted corporate pass if there are 3 delegates or more from the same company. Members working at a Local or State Government can access a corporate pass with two or more delegates.
Can non-members of the UDIA attend?
Non-members are welcome to attend.
Can I attend only one day of Congress?
Day passes are available for Wednesday, 27 March and Thursday, 28 March to attend the plenary sessions and any scheduled social functions on those days (excluding the National Awards for Excellence).
Why are the study tours and Awards for Excellence optional extras?
Member feedback from previous Congresses was that they would like the option to reduce their time away from the office. In response we adjusted the program so that the plenary sessions occur over two days. We have also made the study tours and National Awards for Excellence optional extras so that people can skip these events to fly in later and depart earlier.
What day do I need to arrive for Congress if I don’t wish to attend a study tour?
Registration and breakfast commences at 9am on Wednesday, 27 March. Depending on where you are travelling from, and flight availability to your preferred airport (Brisbane or Gold Coast), you may wish to arrive on the Wednesday morning or fly in the night before to attend the Oliver Hume Welcome Party. The Welcome Party is an included function in a two day on one day Wednesday registration.
Can I make a change to my booking and add a Study Tour or Awards ticket later?
Your registration can be amended to include these events, however they are subject to availability and numbers are strictly limited. If you do not book these initially, there is a chance tickets may be exhausted by the time you decide to add them to your Congress experience.
Do I have to attend the social functions?
The social functions are optional but their cost is included in registration regardless of whether you attend.
Can I attend the Twilight with Trade function only and not Congress?
No. Tickets for the Twilight with Trade function are not available separately.
Can I attend a study tour only and not Congress?
Yes. Tickets can be purchased separately for a study tour.
Can I attend the 2019 National Awards for Excellence if I don’t want to come to Congress?
Yes. Tickets can be purchased separately for the National Awards for Excellence.
What accommodation options are there for Congress?
For the best Congress experience we recommend staying at The Star, however other alternatives will be available to select from during the booking process.
I have dietary requirements; how do I inform you of this?
At the time of booking your registration you will be prompted to disclose any dietary requirements. If these change after your booking has been made, please contact the Congress Events team on info@udiacongress.com.au
I require wheelchair access to the venue, who do I inform of this?
At the time of booking your registration there will be an opportunity to advise of any other requirements. If these change after your booking has been made, please contact the Congress Events team on info@udiacongress.com.au
I can no longer attend Congress, can I get a refund?

How do I get to The Star from Brisbane Airport?
Brisbane Airport is approximately a 90-minute drive from The Star depending on traffic. Transport options include: train from airport to Gold Coast via Queensland Rail then a transfer to the Gold Coast’s Light Rail network – G:link – with the closest stop to The Star being Broadbeach North 450-metres away; taxi; car transfers; and car hire.
How do I get to The Star from Gold Coast (Coolangatta) Airport?
The Gold Coast Airport is approximately a 35-minute drive from The Star depending on traffic. Transport options include: the Gold Coast’s Light Rail network – G:link – with the closest stop to The Star being Broadbeach North 450-metres away; taxi; car transfers; and car hire.
